Faustin, Celestin (Haitian, 1948-1981), Man Dreaming in a Tree, 1974, oil on Masonite, signed and dated lower left, marked CF-8 on the verso, 24 x 48 inches, in the original carved wood frame. Exhibited: Reframing Haiti: Art, History and Performativity, Brown University, Providence, RI, 2011. Provenance: the collection of Georges Nader, Sr.; the collection of author and historian Marcus Rediker, Pittsburgh, PA.
In good condition, with a thin layer of surface soil and signs of flaking along the extreme edges from frame rubbing.
