Lindbergh has numbered the pages a, b, c, 1, 2, 3, 1a, 2a, 3a, 4a, 5a, 6a, 4-37, 38 - the lettered pages and page 38 are the manuscript sheets and the rest are the typescript. Grosvenor was the first full-time employee of the National Geographic Society and Alexander Graham Bell's son-in-law. He was the editor of National Geographic Magazine from 1899-1954 and the President of the National Geographic Society from 1920-1954.
