Edward F. Caldwell and Co. gilt bronze and lapis lazuli desk clock. Pierced bronze dial, pierced Roman hour numerals, set against red velvet backing. In a wreath form case supported by putti atop dolphins. Mounted on a blue lapis lazuli base with gilt bronze leaf and dart banding, resting on four feet. Nicely cast. Movement stamped 'Edw. F. Caldwell & Co., Fifteen 15 Jewels, Three 3 ADJ, H. Barbezat-Bole S.A.' Hand winding works, with key. 6 inches tall, base is 5.25 x 2.5 inches. Provenance: The Estate of Charles G. Pauli, Pittsburgh, PA.
