Frankfurter, Felix, and Nathan Greene, The Labor Injunction, 1930, first edition, signed and inscribed by Frankfurter on the fly leaf to his longtime friend Sidney Hillman, the American labor leader and one-time head of the Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America. HArdcover, green cloth, Macmillan, 9.25 x 6.5 inches. Before joining the Supreme Court, Frankfurter had represented the ACWA in important cases. Hillman was a major supporter of the New Deal, and also counted Louis Brandeis (to whom Labor Injunction is dedicated) as a friend. Hillman's secretary (and mistress) Tecia Davidson has signed her name below Frankfurter's inscription. Frankfurter seems to have simply signed this as Fr. or FF, the informality likely due to his close friendship with the recipient. An important association copy.
In fair to good condition, no dust jacket; another later gift inscription on the fly leaf, otherwise unmarked; light foxing to first and last few pages; spine sunned; fraying to spine ends and corners; boards scratched and lightly soiled.
