Moffat, G. (British/Scottish/Irish, 19th/20th century), Sailboat Races plus Two Steamships, 1899, oil on canvas, signed and dated lower right, 13 x 21.5 inches, framed 17.5 x 26 inches. The Ulster Museum in Belfast, Ireland, has a 1913 painting of the Titanic by G. Moffat in their permanent collection. Otherwise, very little information about the artist is available. Provenance: The estate of Donald T. Mervine, Western Pennsylvania, sold to benefit the Pittsburgh Zoo and Aquarium.
