George Jacob Hunzinger (German, American, 1835-1898), Aesthetic Movement rocking chair. Mahogany rocking chair with ebonized elements. Textile covered metal webbed seat and backrest. 35.5 x 22.25 x 30 inches. Hunzinger was a pioneer inventor, marketer, protomodernist, and one of the most important American furniture designers of the 19th century. His innovations in design changed the furniture industry.


In good antique condition, apart from some minor usage related abrasions at legs. Textile fraying in some areas.
