Georgian compartmented knife box, English, late 18th/early 19th century. Serpentine front, mahogany with conch shell inlay at lid, star inlay at inner lid, and banded inlay throughout. 13.75 x 8.5 x 9 inches.
Wear and some cracking and lifting to veneer, banded inlay missing along left side of lid, chipped pieces along lower front edge, lifting nails at lower rear hinges, missing rear left edge pieces.
