Satsuma figure of Kannon, Japanese, Meiji Period. In polychrome overglaze enamels with gilt accents. Fine craquelure. Resting on a circular pierced and carved wooden plinth. Signed in iron red at underside with Shimazu crest (mon) above. Figure 14.5 x 4.5 x 4 inches, plinth 1.25 x 6.25 inches.
Three broken toes, three broken fingers on left hand and broken thumb and fingertips on right hand, proper. Consistent craquelure throughout. Some accretions.
