Stovgh, J. L. (19th Century European School), Landscape with Village in the Distance, 1875, oil on canvas, 30 x 25 inches, signed and dated lower left, farmed in a period painted gold frame measuring 36.5 x 32.5 inches. Provenance: The personal collection of Gary S. Grimes, Pittsburgh. Gary was an expert on Western Pennsylvania art, and especially the Scalp Level painters.
