18th century British Portrait School, Portrait of a Gentleman Writing in his Library, c.1780s, oil on thick canvas, since relined, apparently unsigned, 12 x 10 inches (oval shaped), in a wood frame 17 x 16 inches. 1789 has been scratched into the stretcher bar, and an old label on the back references a portrait by Devis, but it's possibly referring to a different but similar painting. Relined; otherwise in good condition with small areas of age appropriate wear. Merchandise will be packed and transported by the purchaser at their own risk and expense.
