A pair of hollow-cut silhouettes of a lady and gentleman in frames, together with two 1860s cut silhouettes of gentlemen applied to one piece of paper. The latter with five 1860s newspaper clippings attached verso, including: death notices for Alfred D. Brick, William Weikel, and Philip Physick Green; a marriage announcement for T.S. Parker and E.A. Reynolds; Civil War dispatches received from the Christian Commission Delegation to Murfreesboro for Nashville. A loose hand written receipt of payment for an unknown transaction dated December 7th 1863 is included. Gentlemen on page 6 x 3.75 inches, in a period wooden frame 8.5 x 6.5 inches. Lady and Gentleman each in 20th century frames 5.25 x 4.5 inches.
Condition
Hollow-cut silhouettes in seemingly good condition unexamined outside of the frame. Cut silhouettes with some creasing and two pinholes. All with toning commensurate with age.
