Taylor, Maggie (American, b.1961), Companion, 1998, color photo on paper, signed, titled, dated and numbered 22/40 in pencil at bottom, 14.75 inches square, matted and framed 24.5 x 24.75 inches. A classic, early surrealistic photomontage work by Taylor which combined found objects, color photography and Adobe Photoshop. Taylor was married to Jerry Uelsmann, the creator of modern photomontage, at the time while she fully embraced Photoshop and the possibilities of digital printing. Provenance: purchased directly from the publisher, Thunderbird Editions.
