Highly carved George II mahogany sideboard table with green marble top, English, likely 19th century. Refinished in a grey wash, front apron with open-work carving of grape vine festoons, coquillage, and mascaron at center representing Bacchus. The marble top was added later. Several restorations. Matches a circa 1730 table from the collection of philanthropist William Lever, 1st Viscount Leverhulme, who founded and built the Lady Lever Art Gallery, one of the National Museums Liverpool. Found in a catalog of the Lady Lever Art Gallery by Percy Macquoid, entry 117, page 47, plate 36. 36 x 75 x 28 inches. Provenance: Estate of Charles G. Pauli, Pittsburgh, PA.
