This copy has a handwritten dedication on the fly leaf in black ink "For Mr. & Mrs. Arkus, Dec. 1957". We believe, but can not confirm, that the dedication was written by Duchamp. Leon Arkus, who would lead the Carnegie Museum of Pittsburgh from 1969 to 1980, worked as an art dealer in New York City in the 1950s. This book came to us directly from his estate.
