Monument a Christophe Colomb et a Marcel Duchamp Portfolio, 1971, number 17 of 135 copies, loose sheets in folder, with 12 (of 13) etchings on Arches wove paper, in the original paper folders, cloth chemise and slipcase, 15 x 11.25 inches. The prints are all signed and numbered in pencil at the lower margin. The artists are: Pierre Alechinsky, Arman, Enrico Baj, Hans Bellmer, Bryne, Max Ernst, Raoul Hausmann, Man Ray (who made 2 different prints), Matta, Hans Richter and Dorothea Tanning. This lot is lacking only the Joan Miro print. A stunning collection of work in homage to Duchamp, by a strong roster or Dada and Surrealist printmakers.
Prints in fine condition, with the original tissue guards present; some of the facing sheets with light ghosting. The paper covers show light staining. The spine of the chemise is sunned. Slipcase with edgewear and light staining. Merchandise will be packed and transported by the purchaser at their own risk and expense.
