Gignoux, Regis (French/American, Hudson River School, 1816-1882), Lot of 3 framed paintings: 1. French Coast, likely Brittany or Normandy, c.1875, watercolor on paper, signed lower left, 10 x 14.5 inches, matted and framed 18 x 22 inches. // 2. Cottage in the Woods, c.1875, watercolor on paper, signed lower right, 9.75 x 13.75 inches, matted and framed 16 x 20 inches. // 3. Pasture in French Countryside, c.1875, watercolor on paper, signed lower left, 9.5 x 13.5 inches, matted and framed 18 x 22 inches. The coasts of both Brittany and Normandy and the forests of the French countryside were popular subjects for Gignoux following his return to his native country in 1870. Provenance: From the estate of Arthur B. de Saint Maurice, the great-grandson of Regis Gignoux.
