Gignoux, Regis (French/American, Hudson River School, 1816-1882), Certosa Florence Italy, 1879, watercolor on paper, signed bottom center, 9.5 x 14.75 inches, matted and framed 18.5 x 23 inches. Title and date taken from Gignoux's own notebook where he recorded all of his works and sales -- this one with his inventory number 49 on the reverse. Mountainscape with the famous Certosa Monastery and castle in the outskirts of Florence, Italy. Provenance: From the estate of Arthur B. de Saint Maurice, the great-grandson of Regis Gignoux.
