Tamayo, Rufino (Mexico, 1899-1991), Hombre Contemplando la Luna, 1947, etching on cream wove paper, impression 7.75 x 5.75 inches, full sheet 11.75 x 8.5 inches, unframed, from the deluxe edition of the monograph on Tamayo by Robert Goldwater. The print itself is unsigned, but this lot does include the colophon of the book where Tamayo has signed and is numbered 29/80. Likely printed at Atelier 17, New York, under the direction of Stanley W. Hayter. A very rare and early Tamayo print.

Condition

A good, rich impression; the sheet with light staining along the top edge; the colophon page has much heavier staining and fading.
