Wilson, S. Clay (American, 1941-2021), Ringo Guns Down the Up-Start Punk, 1972, original illustration with ink and white-out enhancements, signed, dated and inscribed to Big Chuck (aka the writer Chuck Kinder) in the lower left, image size 5 x 7.25 inches, sheet size 7 x 9.5 inches, unframed. Provenance: The estate of Chuck Kinder and Diane Cecily, Pittsburgh, PA. Steve Clay Wilson was an important artist in the underground comix scene and one of the founding members of the Zap collective. Wilson's friendship with Chuck and Diane started in California in the early 1970s. An early Wilson drawing, that made for one of Kinder's stories in Place Magazine.
