Lot of 2 Mexican Modernist Pieces. Including: Sigfredo ' Sigi' Pineda Mexican-Modernist brass, silver, and gemstone box, Taxco, Hecho en México, 1950s. Sterling silver abstract shape inlaid into a hybrid gemstone (malachite, azurite, turquoise, chrysocolla, and copper). Interior is lined in hardwood, raised on four feet, stamped 'Sigi Taxco 9' at underside, 2 x 8.5 x 5.5 inches; Los Castillo copper and silver plate dish, five arms with spiral motif at center, stamped 'Los Castillo Taxco Made in Taxco 183' at underside, 18.5 inches.
In overall good vintage condition. Some light accretions and abrasions to surfaces, some tarnishing. Box with stone chipped in one area at left, some discoloration at underside, wood lining lightly separating at front in one area.
