Burgess, Gelett and Bruce Porter (editors), The Lark, complete run of 24 issues plus The Epilark and 2 annual prospectuses, May 1895 to April 1897, softcovers in the original paper wraps, most top edges uncut, published in San Francisco by William Doxey, illustrated throughout by Burgess, Florence Lundberg, Ernest Peixotto, Willis Polk and Reginald Rix, a playful little magazine put out by Les Jeunes which helped to put San Francisco on the American literary map, first two issues include laid-in plates, all issues now housed in two piece protective slipcase with spine label. Provenance: deaccessioned from a regional institution, but with no stamps, stickers or markings; will include a letter of deaccession from the institution.
Condition
In good condition, toned but well preserved, most top edges uncut, paper is fragile but few signs of tearing or brittleness; few issues with light staining.
