Thangka of the Refuge Field of Padmasambhava, Tibet, Nyingma school, early 19th century, 31.5 x 24 inches, in a cherry wood frame 43 x 33 inches, central figure of Padmasambhava, the head of the Nyingma lineage, with his primary consort Yeshe Tsogya, seated above are the lineage teachers with Buddhas at bottom, surrounded by books representing the many texts that Padmasambhava translated from Sanskrit to Tibetan.
