Albers, Josef (illustrator), The Washburn College Holy Bible, complete in 3 volumes, each book with a screenprint by Josef Albers that's signed, dated and numbered 97/398 in pencil, the prints were done in 1973, but the books weren't published until 1979 (Albers died in 1976), Washburn College, hardcover, folios, full red leather, housed in linen slipcase, printed by Bradbury Thompson and signed by him on the colophon, Albers' prints after works from his 1942 Graphic Tectonic series, titled Ascension, Introitus and Seclusion (DANILOWITZ 100, 102, 105). Provenance: deaccessioned from a regional institution; will include a letter of deaccession from the institution.
Condition
Each volume with two small library stamps, including one Withdrawn stamp, to a rear blank, otherwise Near Fine with minor wear to the tips; contents bright, clean and unmarked; prints in fine condition; light shelfwear to the slipcase.
