Roberts, William Goodridge (Canadian/Quebec, 1904-1974), Sill Life, 1932, watercolor on paper, signed at lower right. 20 x 24.5 inches, behind glass, and in a 30.25 x 35.25 inch framed, linen lined. A note on the back reads 'Painted by Goodridge Roberts in my parents' farm house near Green's Creek in 1932 (c.), Goodridge was staying with us, and on a rainy day painted the still life in the spare room. Later, I found it under the bed where he has discarded it. When I showed it to him later, he said he rather liked it, but didn't offer to take it. James H. Barbour, 26th, Feb. 1980'.
