Magarac was the Paul Bunyan of steel, a pseudo-historic folk hero and popular symbol of the historical steel industry in Pittsburgh and its surrounding towns like Braddock and McKeesport. Provenance: The personal collection of Gary S. Grimes, Pittsburgh. Gary was an expert on Western Pennsylvania art, and especially the Scalp Level painters.
