Kitayama, Yoshio (Japanese, contemporary), They Are Innocently in the World Together, 1981, mixed media wall sculpture with wood, copper rod, leather, paper, wire and bamboo, apparently unsigned, 54.75 x 68 x 21.5 inches. Exhibited: Carnegie International, Museum of Art, Pittsburgh, 1982; color and black and white image reproduced in the catalog. In addition to the Carnegie International, Kitayama also represented Japan in the 40th Venice Biennale in 1982. Provenance: Galerie 16, Kyoto, Japan. An extremely delicate, fragile and masterful piece.
In generally good condition, apart from some tearing and loss to the paper elements; a few small wood sections show evidence of previous glue repair.
