Tall Case Clock (Grandfather Clock), late 18th century, after 1780. James Wilson (Birmingham, England) hand painted enamel dial. Moon phase dial plate stamped Wilson-Birm verso. False plate stamped Wilson. Brass movement is apparently unmarked. Swan neck pediment with urn form finials. Bonnet with four turned columns. Case maker not known. Several family names and dates incised on the pendulum. 93 x 20 x 11.5 inches. Provenance: The Estate of Donald T. Mervine, Western Pennsylvania, sold to benefit the Pittsburgh Zoo and Aquarium.

Condition

Extensive repairs, finish damage, and some cracking to back panels. Not tested for working order. Some paint loss to Dial.
