Nkisi power figure, Songye peoples (or after), Democratic Republic of the Congo. Large carved wood figure with copper attachments around the eyes, vulcanite beads, horn necklace, raffia skirt, magic horn tucked in one elbow, horn in head. 53 inches tall. Smaller carved figure with copper attachments and horn. 34.5 inches tall. Provenance: From a large lot of African art purchased by a collector from a storage space buyer, story featured in the LA Times, 2004.
