Bohrod, Aaron (American, 1907-1992), Golden Venus, undated, c.1965, oil on board, signed near the center, 11.5 x 8.5 inches, in a two-tone wood and gold frame 22.5 x 20 inches. Provenance: Banfer Gallery, NYC, with original label affixed to the back of the frame; Everett Oehlschlaeger Gallery, Chicago; private collection, Western Pennsylvania. Bohrod had 4 of his WPA paintings in important group shows at the Museum of Modern Art from 1934-1944. His work can now be found in the permanent collection of the Art Institute of Chicago, the Whitney Museum and the Hirshhorn Museum, among many others.
