Sternberg, Harry (American, 1904-2002), Blast Furnace #1, 1937, etching and aquatint on paper, signed in pencil lower right, image size 11.75 x 8.25 inches, matted and framed 19.5 x 16 inches. Published by Associated American Artists (AAA). A WPA era industrial image, likely inspired by the mills in northeast Pennsylvania. Provenance: The personal collection of Gary S. Grimes, Pittsburgh. Gary was an expert on Western Pennsylvania art, and especially the Scalp Level painters.

Condition

In seemingly good condition with a few small spots of foxing visible in the margins; unexamined outside of the frame.
