Bonar, James (Scottish/American/Pittsburgh, 1864-1942), Sketch From My Window No. 1, 1920, oil on canvas, signed and dated lower left, additionally inscribed to C. L. Wooldridge, titled on exhibition label affixed to the back of the frame, 15 x 18 inches, in a period gilt wood frame 22 x 24.5 inches. Exhibited: Associated Artists of Pittsburgh, Twelfth Annual Exhibition, 1921, with partial label. An excellent Bonar industrial Pittsburgh scene with mills, rivers, boats and bridges. C. L. Wooldridge was an engineer who served as Superintendent of Buildings by the Pittsburgh Board of Public Education in the early 20th century - a position that Bonar would hold himself starting in 1919. In good condition, with a layer of surface dust, stable crazing in the upper right corner, light wear along the extreme edges where the painting sits under the frame.
