John Fitzgerald Kennedy, Pencil Note and Small Doodle on United States Senate stationery, undated but likely 1955, sheet 10.5 x 8 inches, not signed, 3 line note, the number 9477 and a small doodle all in JFK's hand, including the eerily prophetic request for a copy of The Day Lincoln Was Shot by the author and journalist Jim Bishop. The book was released in January of 1955. He also writes Call Dan Flood, the congressman from Pennsylvania. Provenance: from the collection of the late Ohio U. S. Representative Michael J. Kirwan (1886-1970), who was a longtime friend of President Kennedy; gifted from Kirwan to his neighbor and protege, the presidential historian John Burke Jovich. The piece has been examined by JFK's personal secretary, Evelyn Lincoln, whose expertise on his handwriting is unsurpassed. Needless to say, the historical significance of this item can not be overstated as it connects two of America's presidents that were killed by an assassin's bullet.
