Wilson, S. Clay (American, 1941-2021), Your Basic Trout, 1974, handmade comic book created by Wilson for author Chuck Kinder, in honor of Chuck's engagement to Diane Cecily, produced in San Francisco. Booklet measures 5.25 x 4 inches. Trout was Wilson's nickname for Chuck; Diane went by Trigger. 16 pages, hand written and drawn. Ink, watercolor and gouache plus some collage elements. A one-of-a-kind raunchy and rude Wilson production. Provenance: The estate of Chuck Kinder and Diane Cecily, Pittsburgh, PA. Steve Clay Wilson was an important artist in the underground comix scene and one of the founding members of the Zap collective. Wilson's friendship with Chuck and Diane started in California in the early 1970s.

Condition

In fair to good condition; pages have broken away from the stapled binding; covers detached; fading; some shallow chips and tears along the edges.
