Frantz, Samuel Marshall (Russian/American, 1890-1953), The Smoking Gun, c.1930s, gouache on paper, signed in ink lower right, sight is 12.75 x 19.25 inches, matted and in a wood frame 18 x 24 inches. Illustration for what must've been an interesting story: French soldiers, a doctor, and the handsome man holding a smoking gun. Provenance: Personal collection of Edward J. Grzybowski, co-owner of Tri-State Antiques in Canonsburg, PA. Ed was well known and respected in the field for his vast knowledge of antiques and decorative arts, particularly 20th century design.

Condition
