Truschel, William K. C. (Self Taught Folk Artist worked near Pittsburgh; 20th Century American), What Moments Devine-What Ruptures Serene, 1963, oil on masonite panel, 28 x 24 inches, signed KCT 1/63 lower right, titled on reverse with paper label with title and artist's signature. K.C. Truschel was an unknown, self-taught painter from Bradford Woods near Pittsburgh. He painted from 1962-1967 and his work was never shown during his lifetime. His paintings often display themes of man’s shortcomings. His work was exhibited at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts in 2002. Provenance: The Estate of Bruce Baker, Pittsburgh, Pa., framed with strip wood frame.
